Anglo-Eastern Group has announced that its India Shared Services Centre (ISSC) is now equipped with a newly expanded office space in Mumbai.

The ISSC is a vital enabler of the Group’s global operations, driving excellence across key functions through streamlined processes, consistent service delivery, and a strong focus on continuous improvement. This initiative is not just about physical space — it’s about growing with purpose.

Capt Bjorn Hojgaard, CEO, Anglo-Eastern Univan Group, said: “This expanded workplace is a testament to the trust our clients have placed in us, the hard work of our teams, and the successes we’ve achieved together. Here’s to building a space that fosters capabilities, drives efficiencies, and strengthens our partnerships as in the dynamic field of ship management, operational efficiency and cost management are critical to maintaining a competitive edge.”

"Recognising this, the Group established its Shared Services Centre in Navi Mumbai two years ago with a clear mission—to streamline operations, enhance service quality, and reduce cost-to-serve to our global customers. With the expansion of this centre to a new floor in April 2025, it is worth reflecting on the strategic benefits this initiative has brought to our organisation and how it enhances the service we provide to the Group’s clients, crew, and business unit teams," added Capt Bjorn Hojgaard.

The core purpose of the Shared Services Centre is to enhance the operational efficiency, which directly benefits the Group’s stakeholders. By centralising key functions such as finance, IT, sustainability, procurement, and others, the Group has been able to:

  • Implement uniform processes across operations: This standardisation reduces variability and ensures that best practices are consistently applied, leading to more predictable and reliable outcomes.
  • Identify and eliminate redundant activities: This not only streamlines processes but also reduces the time and resources spent on unnecessary tasks.
  • Foster better collaboration amongst teams: When experts from different areas work together in the same location, they can share insights and solve problems more effectively, leading to continuous improvement in processes.

Anglo-Eastern’s Shared Services Centre leverages economies of scale to reduce costs to serve, which in turn benefits its clients. This strategic advantage enables the Group to maintain high-quality services without the need to pass on additional costs. By optimising operations, the Group ensures that its business remains lean and efficient, safeguarding its clients against excessive price increases due to rising operational costs. This scale also enables the Group to invest in advanced technologies and training, enhancing overall capabilities.

Mumbai, known for its talent pool and innovative environment, provides the Group with access to skilled professionals who bring new ideas and expertise to the Group’s operations. With the latest technological advancements at its disposal, the Shared Services Centre has become a hub of innovation, continuously exploring new ways to improve processes through robotic process automation (RPA) artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML), and advanced data analytics to deliver better service to the stakeholders.

The success and efficiency gains the Group has observed have prompted it to expand its capacity by adding a new floor to its Mumbai facility. This expansion has allowed the Group to accommodate more team members, further streamlining its operations, and enhancing its service capabilities. Since the establishment of the centre, the Group has seen a 30% reduction in response times and a 20% decrease in operational costs, demonstrating the tangible benefits of a strategic approach that directly translates into improved service for the stakeholders. As the Group continues to scale its shared services, it remains focused on enhancing stakeholder experience, delivering high-value outcomes, and ensures an operating model that supports both current needs and the future growth.
